What is healthy eating?
EAT WELL LOOK FANTASTIC: is designed to do exactly that, eat well look good feel great.I have tried to give you range of options for you to take a look at and hopefully help you to make some decisions about what direction you would like to take with your health and well-being. I have also put together a Health and Well-Being store for you to browse for that particular health item or product you may need, and a few tips on how to detox. I do use Amazon.Com and eBay products on my site because I believe they offer great products, safe shopping and value for money.
I love to talk about and share ideas on health and well being but I do need to eat, hence the products on my site, please don't get offended, if I could live without money and offer free advice I would definitely do so.
Eating well to look Fantastic really does come down to one thing, eating the right foods. If you put the right foods into your body, your body has the magical ability to transform itself back to abundant health.
What are the right foods and why eat healthy? Well, first up your foods must be herbicide & pesticide free! Then absolutely not genetically modified, there have been some recent studies done using genetically modified foods and rats. The results a very scary! What we do know is that rats fed GM corn developed shockingly large cancer tumors.
The photo & research released by the French research team, showed large cancer tumors growing at a strongly heightened risk in rats fed a "lifetime" of GM corn. According to that study, 70% of females died premature and showed significant damage to their liver, kidneys and other organs.
So, I am not an advocate for eating GM products, but that is up to your own discretion. I am a great believer in finding good quality Certified organic produce. Then apart from the foods we eat is the water we consume, most of us do not drink enough water per day, hence we are always dehydrated.
Feeling hungry, first try drinking some water, a decent amount of water not just a sip. Most times we think we are hungry when in fact we are dehydrated. We should be drinking about 1 litre per 22 kg body weight per day. I always drink 1 litre first thing in the morning when I wake up, add a little lemon juice (great for the Liver cleanse).
Sorry for slipping this Advert plug in, but here is my other site with an amazing range of pure water filtration systems, everything you could think of for filtering your water anywhere anytime. Take a look if you get the time or need a good quality Water Filter: PURE WATER FILTRATION SYSTEMS
I built the Water Filter Site because I do believe so strongly in filtering all of our water. Not just drinking water, but the water we bath in and wash our clothes in.
When starting out on your journey to good health, you first need to clean out the old stuff, the old build-up of toxins and crap lining your digestive system and Colon. We can have huge amounts of old, hard build up sitting in pockets in our colon. Find a good colon cleanse, I use one sold by Consciouslifestyler.com, it is a 4 day cleanse that works brilliantly. I have done a blog on this product. But I am sure there are other good products out there.Total Wellness Cleanse is another great 30 day cleanse, this gives you all of the step by step instructions.
The next thing that I like to do is go on a juice fast, now this can be for a week or as long as you feel comfortable with. The juice fast will give your whole system a break from trying to digest heavy foods, which then gives your body time to heal itself. I have done the 7 day juice fast and it is amazing how much energy you do have over this period. Sometimes during this fast things may arise, both emotionally and physically. It’s like a clearing out process; your body takes advantage of this period to get rid of old junk that has built up over your lifetime.
This does not happen to everyone, it did not happen to me but I saw others going through their own healing process in different ways. Continue with the juices and drink plenty of good clean water.
Another process that will help clean out your system during this period is either colonic’s or get some professional colon hydrotherapy. This is truly amazing for helping to clean out the toxins that are being released during this period.
Understanding Colonic Hydrotherapy
Another process I have just done recently is a 30 day cleanse. Starting out with the 4 day colon cleanse, then just eating organic raw foods for the remaining 26 days, no tea, coffee, dairy, wheat or sugars and drinking only water. The 30 days is a good tool to use as it takes 14 days to break the old habits and another 14 days to establish a new eating habit.
You will most definitely lose weight; this varies from person to person the amount lost. You will also get rid of any of those cravings for those sugary foods and treats in this time frame. I did use a product called Pulse to make the 30 day process easier. Pulse contains all of the nutrients your body needs and tastes great; this is also in one of my blogs.
You will notice over this 30 day period you may have some aches and pains disappear, your skin will clear up, you will lose some weight, your eyes may become clearer and you will have more energy at the end. Once again you may have things arise health wise or emotionally.
The reason being that sometimes we have so much going wrong in our bodies that our body knows that we are not healthy enough to cope with the process of releasing the toxins or un-wellness, once we start doing this cleansing process our bodies become healthier and stronger. Our body knows we are now strong enough to start to release the garbage and starts the process. This is why we sometimes think we are doing all of the right things health wise and all of a sudden we get the Flu, or a skin rash, or start to feel unwell. This is all part of the process so do not get discouraged.
So, if you do want to start looking fantastic, feeling fantastic and slow down that aging process then this is a good process to follow. Once you have completed the cleansing process then try to continue on eating as much raw foods as possible, cut back the heavy meat intake and drink plenty of water.
Then you will need to add in some nuts, seeds and grains, some good ones are, Sunflower kernels Pumpkin kernels, pine nuts & raw cashews. These are just a few there are many more out there. These are also a good source of protein. Then maybe some good oils like Flaxseed oil or Hemp seed oil for your Omega, 3, 6 & 9’s. Hemp Seed Oil is an amazing product. Do some research on the health benefits of Hemp Seed. Here are a few Hemp Seed Benefits:
Also, get into the fresh coconuts as well, drink the water, eat the flesh and use the Coconut oils on your skin, in your cooking, coconuts are fantastic for you . Don't be concerned about not getting enough protein either; what mainstream media do not tell you are that there is sufficient protein in everything we eat. If you are maintaining a healthy diet with plenty of good quality fruits and Veggies, beans, legumes, nuts, eggs (if you're not Vegan) then you will be getting your daily requirements of protein. There are Vegan/vegetarian options for protein powders out there if you are concerned, but shouldn't really need them. Here is the protein requirements mainly for an athlete.
In saying this, getting the right amount of Amino Acids is essential. There is an interesting video at the bottom of this page that helps explain this, because this is a question I get asked all of the time. If you don't eat meat you can't be getting your protein & amino acids, they say. I get tired of trying to explain this over and over, and then they still don't believe you. Anyway I came across this video and this guy really explains this so well I thought I would post this for everyone to see. Great explanation I thought.
If you are concerned about not getting the essential Amino Acids, then try the Pomegranate. There are over 760 varieties of pomegranate found in the world. Pomegranate is a good, natural source of vitamins A, C, E as well as folic acid and Potassium. In addition, pomegranate is an excellent source of essential amino acids, Iron, vitamins B5, B3 or Niacin.
Studies done on Protein Requirements:
Protein intake (grams/kg/day)
(a) Exercising approximately four to five times per week for 45-60 min
(b) Exercising four to five times per week for 30 min at <55% VO2peak

Some veggies contain as much if not more Iron than meat does, and nearly all fruits and Veggies contain Protein. Do some research yourself about protein in veggies and fruits. Beans are are a good source of protein, Kidney Beans (17g), White Beans (17g), Lima Beans (15 g), Fava Beans (14g), Black Beans (15 g), Mung Beans (14g), for comparison, eggs have about 13 g of protein. Other sources are: Legumes, Nuts, Seeds, Spinach and more. Look at some of the strongest animals on the planet? Do they eat meat? Where do they get their protein? So keep your diet as raw as possible, plenty of fresh fruits, veggies and water. If you love your meat then just try to make sure it is free range organic meat and only in small portions. You will get plenty of Iron from your veggies, look up Kale (Approx: 4.5g protein & 1.5g Iron per 100 g) and Spinach (Approx: 2.9g protein & 2.4g Iron per 100g)
If you are wondering what is a good juice machine to use, I personally use the Hurom juicer. ( Details at bottom of page) I have used mine for about 2 years now and it is amazing. Puts through all of my fruits and veggies fast & it cold presses them, so it does not oxidise the juice. (It will also juice Wheatgrass!) This way the juice will last a little longer and holds its nutrients if you want to make a little extra for the whole day.
I hope this information has been a guide to getting started on your journey to health, well-being and looking Fantastic. Continue down the page for more great information on Health and wellbeing.
Where do you get your Protein????? Check out the video below. Very interesting explanation.
Here are a few basic things that you can also do to start on your journey to better health and well-being.
Drink more Water
Drink more Water
Most of us are dehydrated which affects our brain, our organs & shows in our complexion. I drink 1 litre (Approx.34 ounces or 4.23 cups) of water first thing in the morning when I wake up. You should drink approximately 1 litre for every 22 Kg (48.50 pounds or 776.03 Oz) of body weight as an indicator during your day.
This figure may vary slightly from advisor to another but as a guide this works. This helps to flush out any toxin's that have built up over the night from lying dormant all night and also helps to stimulate your metabolism which helps you lose weight, plus there are other benefits.
I make sure that I only drink good clean filtered water, not straight out of the tap, especially if your Government/councils are putting fluoride into your water and mass medicating you. I will get into Fluoride some other time.
Get into the sunlight more
Try to get at least 20 minutes in the sun every day. You don’t have to go out and bake yourself for hours but defiantly get some sun. It is one of the best anti-depressants around and it’s free. Most industrialized countries for decades have been brainwashed into believing the sun is bad for us. Cover up; put sunscreen on, slip slop slap is the Australian slogan.
Lather ourselves up with toxic sunscreens and take extreme measures to avoid that sunlight. Now we see increasing numbers of vitamin D deficiencies & more skin cancers then ever, then they tell us we need to be taking a Vitamin D supplement? There are Men and women who die each year from avoidable diseases due to this deficiency. I know some people do burn easily but this has been proven to be due to the high intake of soft drinks, processed foods, white flour, refined sugars and other substances. If that same person was to go on a Whole food diet for several months, and avoid all processed foods, even the redheads will not burn their skin in the sun. So get off those processed foods, get onto whole foods & get out in the sun.
Breathing Correctly and Consciously
Most of us forget to breathe properly, we do this short shallow breathing which can have a negative impact on our moods and stress levels, our heart rate can be raised and blood pressure increase. Not breathing properly can cause anxiety and panic attacks. It also does not allow enough oxygen to get into out muscles and blood which then causes tension and inflammation which then can turn into pain. So we need to take a moment and learn to breathe properly. Try this the next time you are completely relaxed. Pay attention to your breath.
Get more exercise everyday.
This can be doing anything from taking a walk every day for 30 or 40 minutes. Or taking up something you love such as Tai Chi, Chi Gong, Gym workouts, swimming, whatever you enjoy doing but just do something. This also helps move the Lymphatic system and helps clear out any toxins. We need to move to make the Lymphatic system function correctly. If you just start with these few simple and free tools you will notice a difference in your health and the way you feel.
On my website I have put together a few different styles of the more commercial diet programs and exercise programs to maybe help you along if you feel you need some extra guidance. Although just using the above advice is a great way to start. These are well known programs that are getting results. There are also pages with very informative documentaries and links to other sites that can help you. Also check out my BLOGSPOT for some great information.

Don't take your own health or the health of your family for granted"
